So I dont really think that we can win the World Cup. After watching Germany last night I am convinced that the trophey will go home with them. But I hope that the USA come top in our group. See if we do then we wont have to play Germany in the next round and England will :). And after last nights game I dont see either of us beating Germany. Come on it is the reality. So here is who I want to win in the order and why:
1- USA I think it is obvious why I want the USA to win. I bleed red, white and blue. It is a part of me. As an American I am so patrioctic. And unlike the English I am not just patriotic when the Soccer is on. I am patriotic all year round. I am so proud to be an American. It is who I am. I get so emotional when I hear the Star Spangled Banner played. I just cant begin to express how much I love my country and the freedoms that I enjoy being an American.
2- My Second choice to win would be ENGLAND!! Why? Well in all reality this is my second home. My Husband is English my Children are half English and so many people that I love with all my heart are here. The people here are, for the most part, so friendly, so loving, so kind and just nice to be around. It is beautiful here and though it rains all the time if it wasnt for the rain we wouuldnt be able to enjoy the beautiful green that surrounds us year round. I love this country.
3- (All England fans cover your Eyes) Germany. No I am not a glory follower. I dont want them to win if the other two dont because I think they good and have the best chance of winning. No I want them to win because it is the land of my birth. See my dad was in the Army when I was borm and was stationed in Bremerhaven Germany. Which is where I was born. Until I moved out of my parents home I had a German flag hanging on my wall. I havent been back since I was really small but it is definitely one of the top places on my list on the continent to visit. I have such a desire to go back and meet the people, see the Germany Hospital I was born in and the seaside country that for the first year of my life I called home. For this reason is the USA and England are unable to make it past the top 16 I want Germany to win. I know those are fighting words here in the UK because the British really dislike the Germans.
Right so there is my World Cup input. I was telling my brother yesterday I never cared about soccer until I married Lee. But being married to him has really given me an interest in the sport. Plus the fact that it is difficult to follow the Basketball (COME ON LAKERS YOU CAN WIN THIS YEARS TITLE) and the Football (TITANS ALL THE WAY!!) whilst living in the UK.
