End of School 2011

On Friday the kids had their last day of school and Nursery. It was a very tearful day for my Kaylee and understandably so. There is a lot of change going on around her and sometimes she doesnt understand it all. So before school and for about an hour after school we had so many tears. Being 7 is sometimes hard. Kaylee has had a lovely teacher this past year, Mr Matkin. He was a very funny teacher. Often Kaylee would come home from school and tell us of the many funny things that Mr Matkin had done that day. He was also very kind and gentle with the children. I have to admit I was a bit nervous for her to have a man teacher at the beginning of the year but in the end she could not have had a better one. She also made so many new friends. Her best friends this year were Joanna, Pria & Milly. She also would come home often and talk about the boys she was playing with Ellis was the main one. The boys enjoyed playing with her because she was into Pokemon just like they were. I didnt get a picture of Kaylee on the last day because she was so sad and upset. But thats ok. We have all Summer to take pictures of her.

Spencer also had his last day at nursery. At the beginning of his nursery year I was not sure about the school I had choosen. But by the end of the year things were fine. He did very well in school. and made a lot of new friends. I feel bad because at the dinner table today he said to me mom my best friend is Finn. Unfortunately he wont get to see Finn ever again because Finn goes to a different school that Spencer does for reception and I wasnt able to ever get to speak to him mom to invite them around. Im sure in a few weeks Spencer will not even remember Finn. Spencer really enjoyed going to Magic Box. I am glad that he was able to get a good start on his education and he is so excited to go to big kid school next year with Kaylee. I just hope he gets the chance. Change is good but the uncertanty of it all is starting to drive all of us a bit crazy :S

So now Bring on Summer Vacation and the Beautiful Weather. We could use a few weeks of gorgeous weather. The forecast for this week is just that. Tomorrow we are going to go blackberry picking in the morning and swim in the paddling pool in the afternoon. Awe the joys of summer :)
