St Patricks Day 2011

This year we had a lovely St Patricks day. I love celebrating holidays with the kids. It just makes life so much more fun! So today we celebrated St. Patricks day. It actually started off on Sunday night we made 50 Salt Dough Shamrocks, 25 for Kaylee's class and 25 for Spencers Class and we sent them to school with those. They both came home with their Shamrocks today painted:

Then today when the kids got home from school they decorated some cakes that I made for them. Of course they did them with green frosting:

Then I set up a Treasure hunt for them so that they could find the Gold at the End of the Rainbow. It was so much fun. Kaylee read all the clues except at one point I said to Spencer you get the clue so he grabbed it and pretended to read it he was so cute. I then whispered in his ear what it said. They really loved the treasure hunt.

Next thing we knew Kaylee came in to Lee and I and said I have a treasure hunt for you. I have to say she is so clever. Putting 8 clues around the house in perfect order so that we would know where to go next is very clever for a 7 year old. She wrote all the clues herself and at the end of the hunt were two Gold Chocolate Coins. It was a lot of fun.

We had such a lovely day. I just love being a mommy. To me doing these kinds of things with and for my children is what makes life worth living for. I just love it!

You are such a good mom! How fun for the kids! I thought I was good with a bag of green items to wear, your kids got to go on a treasure hunt, I have to remember that next year, the boys would love it! How smart for kaylee to think of and put together a treasure hunt for you and lee! You should be sooo proud!
