Kaylee and the innocence of a child

This week Lee has been away at a conference. This morning Kaylee said so Mommy where is daddy then? Why does he have to sleep over at his office. I explained that he wasnt at his office but that he was at a conference. She looked at me got a HUGE smile on her face and said... "Well what are we waiting for mommy? Hook the computer up to the TV so we can see daddy talking!" It was adorable. I had to explain to her that daddy wasnt talking at General Conference but that he was at a conference for the type of work he does. She said "Oh well maybe someday he will be at the church conference". She is so adorable. 

While I am talking about her I also want to say that last night I had the book club at my house because Lee was away. Well After everyone left I went up to bed about 11:00 and took Kaylee to her bed. She woke up when I did (after all she had to walk I cant carry her!!) and she said mommy why cant I sleep in your bed. We never get to have sleep overs. I said well if you have a bad dream you can come into my bedroom. So she got in her bed and I got in my bed. The next thing she is shouting from her bedroom:

K: "Mommy how was the book club tonight"

A" It was great Kay's go to sleep sweetheart"

K: "Mommy did you have a nice discussion about the book with the two little boys on the front" A: "Yes Kay's it was a really nice night"

K: "Mommy did your friends have a nice time too"

A: "Yes Kays now please go to sleep it is after 11"

K: "Mommy Im so glad that you had such a lovely time. You are the best mommy ever and I like when you have a nice time"

A: "Kay's if you want you can come in here and have a sleep over with me"

She really is my best friend. We laid in bed and at 11:50 I said Kaylee do you realise that it is almost tomorrow. She said "We have been talking all night mommy. I think we should go to sleep because Spencer will be awake soon and if we dont then we will be really tired from not sleeping. " She cuddled right up to me, like she does when she is in my bed, put her arm around me and fell asleep. I hope that this never changes. I know that it will as she gets older. But I hope that she always remembers how much I love her and that she really is my best girlfriend ever. I love the beautiful young woman she is slowly (thank goodness) turning into.
