What I am Thankful for Day 2

Today I am thankful for household modern conveniences. Like what might you ask well there is a list of them: Microwaves, toaster, an oven, the toilet, washing machine and drier, heating, electricity, my hair drier and straightener, running hot water and the list goes on and on. I cant imagine having lived in times where any of these items didnt exist. I mean seriously can you imagine having to go outside in the freezing cold to get water and then bring it back to the house and heat it over an open fire to warm it. Or having to go outside to use the bathroom. What about having to wash all your clothes by hand while being 9 months pregnant? So this is why I am grateful for these things. I am so grateful to be born in a time when these thing are so readily available to each of us. I have the greatest respect for my ancestors who went before me and didnt have these modern conveniences.

You are so right. I hadn't even thought of these. The toilet is a big one. Can you imagine being 9 months pregnant, doing your laundry by hand, like you said, and then going outside to the bathroom a hundred times during the night - outside - in the middle of winter - YIKES!

What a great idea to do what you are thankful for! I love modern conveniences too. I can't imagine going the bathroom outside in the freezing cold!
