When you look at this picture what is the first thing that comes to your mind? I would imagine that it would be something to do with garden furniture. Maybe you would think hmmmm I wonder where the table is or the garden chairs. But not in Wigan. Today I was driving to the train station and from about 1/2 a mile back I saw someone carrying an umbrella. It has been raining really hard all day so seeing an umbrella is not an unusual thing here. But as I got closer and closer I started to think oh my gosh that is the biggest umbrella I have ever seen. Then I was right next to the guy. I could not believe my eyes. What I was seeing had to be the most hill billy thing I have seen in my life. The man was not carrying an umbrella at all but rather he was carrying the Parasol from his cheap £2.50 garden furniture. The pole was taller than the man was and he had to hold it one hand near the bottom of the pole and one near the top just to keep it upright. Honestly this man almost caused an accident. I could not stop laughing. I felt like pulling over and asking him if he had misplaced the furniture or better yet his garden all together. Maybe I should give him the benefit of the doubt maybe his house had caught fire and the only thing he was able to save was the parasol which he was holding. It is a good thing a big gust of wind didnt come along just then otherwise the man would have been taken up into the sky, but then it wouldnt have mattered he was practically carrying his own helicopter. So on behalf of all the normal people in Wigan (there are not many I promise!!) Thank you Mr Wigan White Trash for bringing a smile to my face and making me laugh so hard that I almost got into an accident.

That is so funny..what weird people there are in good ol' Wigan! :-) I kept a poppy with me during my mission, but I don't have it anymore--Poppies are seriously my favorite flower! Are poppies England's national flower or something? Or just their remembrance flower?!
Ha ha so funny! Don't worry I have made those doughnuts twice in the past 2 weeks. Your kids are so cute! Hope you don't mind I'm adding you to my list. :) I love blogging and seeing what everyone is up to. OH yes your garden looks so much more lush. I was going to do potatoes but for some reason didn't.
thats hilarious alisha. the poor guy was just trying to stay dry. he probably stole the thing from someone elses yard.
