Vegetable Oil and Sun DON'T Mix

Ok so a quick funny story. It has been so sunny the past week here in England which is a rare thing trust me!! It is hardly ever sunny. So as my previous blogs have shown we have been spending a lot of time in the garden. Which in itself is lovely. But I think my body is still used to being in Good Ol St. George where the sun is really hot because I havent been getting much of a tan. It has been so annoying. So I was thinking to myself when I was home what did I use to get a better tan... Baby oil, but of course I didnt have any. Which is odd because I have a baby. But I never use it. So I thought Hmmm what do I have which could give me the same effect.... Ahhhh Vegetable Oil. That should work. So Yesterday I sat in the garden with Vegetable oil on. And yep you guessed it I burned but only on my shoulders. Even saying that I have NEVER burnt in my life. Lucky for me it isnt too bad it doesnt hurt at all. In fact I want a good tan so badly I was thinking of doing it again today (shhhh dont tell Lee, His response yesterday was why dont you wrap yourself in tin foil and jump in the oven. You'd get the same effect) I hate being white. Not just white but British white. There is a big difference. Trust me if you are from St. George (after having lived in LA County where it is nice and sunny as well) the last thing you want is a british tan.... to tell you what a british tan looks like just pull out a piece of white paper. See the color on that.... that is the color of the british tan. Wait there is no color on the paper well of course not it is white and since the sun never shines in England that is the color of most people skin... After 6 years of living in a tanless environment I think I am justified in covering myself with Vegetable oil. I am AMERICAN for goodness sake NOT BRITISH!!! Let me at least keep my tan!!! ;)
