Whitfield

Today was Spencer's 1st Birthday so we had a BBQ with Lee's family (minus his mom & dad) and a few close friends over. The weather was really crap to be honest cold and only about 50 degrees with loads of wind. But we had a lovely time. The kids all jumped on the bouncy castle, we played pin the candle on Winnie the Pooh's cake and had a pinata. We had to do the pinata inside as it was far too cold outside for the kids. So we hung it on a door handle and called it the Bashing game. The kids loved it anyway to be honest. We gave Spencer his first taste of cake and he seemed to really like it. But he didnt have much. After a few tastes of the icing he had had enough and started to cry a bit. Spencer also had phone calls from his grandma Ann and Aunt Misty & Desserae. That was really nice. We had a lovely day. And even though he didnt have a clue what was going on I'm sure he must have known something was a bit different.

This evening Spencer fell asleep really fast, after all it was a busy day. Just as I do every night I rocked him in his bedroom till he fell asleep. But tonight when I was holding his at just after 7 pm. I cuddled him a bit longer, Kissed him a bit more and Thanks Heavenly Father for this special boy that we have. Last year at this time I didnt know if my baby was going to make it through the night or the upcoming week let alone a year. What a miracle he is. What a blessing he is in our lives.
