Today Kaylee brought home her She did so well this year we are so proud of her. She has always done really well in school. We are very lucky to have a child who loves school and loves to do so well at it. She has such a desire to always do better.
The way the reports work in the UK is very different than in the states. But I can say that in Maths and Writing Kaylee is where they would expect a child at the end of year 4 (4th Grade) to be. for those in the UK who understand she got a 3b. For her Writing and Science she is where a child would be at the end of year 3 / Beginning of Year 4 She got a 3c in both of those categories.
I thought I would type here what her teacher has said about her.
Literacy:
"Kaylee has excellent listening skillsin all areas of class work. She is able to follow complex instructions and can, with encouragement, talk about her work in detail. She uses ideas suggested on how to improve her work next time. Kaylee reads with much confidence and uses expression. She shows an awareness of speech in her reading and has excellent comprehension skills. She is confident to use informationbooks and is aware of the purpose of a glossary and index. Written work is presented with increasing pride and occassionally using a joined style of handwritting. Creative ideas are beginning to be netter thought out and most work is accurately punctuated including use of question, exclamation, and some speech marks. Spelling is increasingly adventurous and a developing knowledge of phonic patterns help this to be more successful. "
Numeracy
"Kaylee has a growing confidence in mathes and has developed some excellent mantal skills this year. She can add and subtract numbers to 10 and increasingly to 20, with improved speed and can double and half numbers with little thought. mental skills also include improving recall of the 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 time tables. She is able to apply mental skills to solve more involved one and two step problems and can use and calculate with money beyong £1. she is confident to describe the mathematical features of 2 and 3D shapes and has explored these with understanding to find symmetry, reflection and turning movements."
Personal Development
"Kaylee is a quiet, charming member of the class who has worked extremly hard this year. She has much inner confidence in what she can achieve and has especially demonstrated this in her written work. She has begun to develop a closer working relationship with children in her class this year and Kaylee has shown a very reliable and mature approach to calss life. She is an exceptionally good listener and, despite being occasionally shy, will share her ideas for others to consider. It has been a pleasure having Kaylee in class this year and I hope she will continue to develop more confidence to make new friends in Year 3."
Well done Darling. We are so proud of you and all your hard work. We love you very much! x o x o

I loved reading those reports, my favorite part was that "she has much inner confidence in what she can achieve", what a great gift for a child to have at such a young age:). She's a superstar!
That is awesome! She is going to be great when she grows up... DR or Lawyer, you know something that makes a TON of Money!!!
