That's right, she came home today. Alisha and I couldn't be happier. We have been blessed with another miracle.
When Alisha's waters broke at 19 weeks we were told to expect to have the baby early and to say our goodbyes as it was likely that she wouldn't survive. I have to admit that there were times when I believed the doctors more than my faith. So many times Alisha would be in such pain and have so many hard contractions that I thought 'This is it. Here comes the most painful day of my life.' But thankfully, once again, we have been blessed with a tiny baby that we have now brought home to be part of our miracle family.
The odds seem to be stacked against us in this area. After Kaylee was born we were given some warning that our next child would be early and to consider only having one child. Three years later Spencer joined us. Alisha wasn't even in her third trimester when he arrived. He had bleeds in his brain, had collapsed lungs, and a host of other problems. He spent the first two months of his life in hospital and has been back a few times, once for an eye operation, once for a hernia operation, and once because of a seizure. He's had all these problems but, if you saw him today you'd probably say the same thing everyone else says, "He's only three years old? We thought he was five!" He truly is a miracle.
After Spencer was born we were warned that, if we attempted to have any more children, it would lead to major problems. Now you might wonder why we ignored this warning and had another child. I'd like to answer your questions however I'm not sure why. It felt right. And now she's here. And she's now awake and looking at me. Oh well, I can deal with her for a while so that Alisha can sleep.
