First Cuddles

Today I was discharged from the hospital. But before we left we stopped in to see our baby girl and to let her know how much we loved her. She had all the tubes taken out of her belly button when we got there so the Nurse said if we wanted Lee and I could cuddle her very quickly while she changed her bedding. I was so excited. It was weeks before we were able to cuddle and today is only day 3 and we are getting our first cuddle with Siena. We only each got about 5 minutes with her but for me it was magical. I loved every second. Kaylee and Spencer were a bit upset because they didnt get a chance but their time will come soon enough. At the moment I find it a little more important for Lee and I to hold her. Kaylee was upset but I explained in a few weeks she will get lots of time to cuddle with her.

I am home now and it is 12:34. Im going to go to sleep in a minute but I was just looking at pictures of my babe. I just love her so very much and I miss her terribly. I loved being on the ward for 3 days knowing that Lee was doing a great job taking care of my babies at home and I was only a short walk away from her. it wont be long until she is home.

I am extremly sore. Im sleeping on the couch tonight because I have found going up and down the stairs every few hours to express was causing so much pain. Tomorrow I get the plastic covering my wound taken off and then on Wednesday they are taking the staples out of my tummy. Apparently I have quiet a few staples. I think I will send Lee out with the children while the midwife is here doing that. I am a bit nervous for it to be honest but I am sure it will be ok. I really cant wait until next week at this time in hopes that the pain will have really subsided. Honestly C-Sections are the pits. But the result at the end, this time being my beautiful Siena, are so worth it!

Yep C-section recovery is not fun, I know, I've had two. The staples don't hurt when they come out though so don't be worried. Over here you can drive again as soon as you're off the pain meds, which was only a few more days for me. I found sleeping in a recliner much more comfortable for the first week (it was too painful to lie flat for me). A tummy support REALLY helped with the discomfort after the c-section. I almost felt normal when I was wearing it like this: http://comfortfirst.com/p-27870-medela-postpartum-abdominal-support-for-after-delivery-or-abdominal-surgery.aspx I'm sure they have them there, it's definitely worth the investment. I'm so glad you were able to hold Siena, it's so important..... and magical:)

That recovery isn't nice is it....I can relate to that, but like you say, the end result is definately worth it! Thinking of you...XXX
