Kaylee's Reception Graduation

Well thats it! Another year has passed! I cant believe how quickly the years are passing now to be honest!! Kaylee had her Reception Graduation yesterday it was so cute. She had a major part in the program and she did so well. We had a meeting with Kaylee's teacher last week, parent teacher conferences, and her teacher has only great things to say about her. The rate the children on a scale of 1 - 9 based in all the following categories: Disposition and Attitudes, Social Behavior, Emotional Development, Language for communication and thinking, Linking sounds and letters, Reading, Writing, Numbers and labels for counting, Calculating, Shapes, space and measures, Knowledge and understanding of the world, Physical development, and Creative development. The national average for children leaving reception is a 6 (out of 9) Kaylee got a 7 in two of the areas and an 8 in all the rest of the areas which means she is above the national average for her age. Her teacher said this at the end of the report (they give us a paper copy.... Im not that sad to write down every word the teacher said!!)

"Kaylee is a very well mannered girl, with a lovely personality. She has developed a good group of friends and is very well liked within the class. Kaylee has always showed impeccable behaviour through out the year, and is a very good role model for the class.

Kaylee has a GREAT attitude to learning, and throughly enjoys school. She has made very good progress this year. This is due to ongoing support from home and her desire to achieve, she is very much ready for year one.

Kaylee has been a pleasure to teach and we will all miss her friendly attitude very much. Good Luck Kaylee."

They are right Kaylee has such a desire to do anything academic. She is reading so much and not just phonics which they teach. I cant even spell words to Lee anymore because she knows what I am spelling. She will go to the book shelf and pick up a book and read it to Spencer. At the moment she is reading and understanding Black Beauty a chapter every night. Kaylee tells me she needs to do the best she can so that when we move to American she can be in the same grade as her cousin Aspin who is in second grade. She really is amazing. When it comes to maths she is able to count past 100. She can also count by 10's 5's 3's and 2's up to 100. She knows her basic addition and subtraction and actually uses them often even at home. Sometimes I wonder if she is being able to be a child enough. But I let her do what she enjoys and she enjoys academics.

Kaylee when you are older and read this I hope you know how special you are to me and how very much I love you. Thank you for always trying to do your best. For being such a great example to me and the rest of our family. I am so lucky to have you as my special princess!! I love you baby!

And now for the Photos!! I know that is what you all wanted anyway...

First a picture of her on her first day at reception. I like to look back and see how much the kids of changed in a year.

Kaylee in her Graduation Gown and Cap.

They had a special guest handing out the graduation certificates.... Max the Wigan Warriors Mascot and some of the Rugby players. Kaylee and 3 of her friends had their pictures taken for the paper.

Her class throwing their caps into the air... Proper graduation style!

Kaylee and her graduating class.

While I was putting together this blog post I was looking at some pictures of spencer and thought I would put one up of spencer from the month Kaylee started school.

Now there is a big difference if you ask me!!
