My Little Man

Over the weekend Spencer has not been very well. And he had been getting a bit worse from Friday until this morning. He didnt sleep well last night at all and was wheezing. As well he was not very comfortable and didnt want to sleep unless he was elevated. This morning his color was not right he was really pale and again was wheezing really really bad so I rang our GP and made an appointment to take him in to be seen. Right when I got in the GP said he needed to go to the Emergency Room she rang them and told them that we were on our way. This was at about 9:10 this morning. So Since I had only planned on going to the Dr I hadnt really packed anything for Spencer and I know how it goes Emergency room means we would be there for HOURS. So I rang Kaylee's friends mom and asked if she would mind watching Kaylee for a few hours and of course she said yes (Thanks Kath!) Anyway we got to the Emergency Room and they checked spencer over. I told about 4 different Dr's his past history, you know the whole he was born at 26 weeks, had a lung collapse when he was 1 month old, had RSV last December as well as Broncilaritis (different than bronchitis) as well he has pretty bad eczema which is a connection to Asthma. On top of that Kaylee has mild asthma, Lee had asthma as a child and my dear sister Desserae has sever asthma. So after about 6 hours 4 Dr's and a chest X Ray The decided that he has severe asthma. So he has had steroids and they have sent me home with the steroids to continue at home. They are a pill which dissolves in water. He also has a nebulizer and an inhaler. He has to have the inhaler every 2 hours he has to have 8 puffs. That is not n easy task with a 15 month old baby. At first the Dr's were saying we were going to have to stay in the hospital again. But once I convinced them that I am sensible and would bring him back if the wheezing got any worse they agreed to let me go. It also helps that in the last 15 months we have spent about 4 1/2 months in hospital with him. As soon as I walk into the children's section of the Emergency Room. This does have benefits. like the fact that I dont have to wait quiet as long as others to be seen. These people know we on first name basis and are always like oh no not Spencer again bring him back Alisha lets see whats wrong. It is lovely!!

One more thing about my little man. For those of you who remember my entry about his Birthday doesnt that seem ages ago? Well today is his 1 year gestation Birthday. If he would have been born on his due date he would have been born today 1 year ago rather than in the middle of April last year. Thank you Heavenly Father for so many blessings with my little man. He isnt up to speed lit most 15 month old babies and it seems like we are living in the GP's office and hospital but I dont care! He is alive he is here with me and every day I get the chance to give him a million kisses. What a blessing he is to our lives. I love you buddy!! xx
