So now onto us... Lee and I met through the Internet. If you didnt already know that and are suprised where the hell have you been for the past 7 years? ;) No but really we met in the November on line. Lee came to UT to visit me in February and we got engaged 6 days after he got there. Then I came to England at the end of May to meet the family and to see him. Finally he came back to UT on the 4th of July 2001. That was our courtship. Not to much to talk about really it was love at first chat.
We were Married on the 18th of August 2001 in the St. George Temple. For those of you who were there you will remember how hot it was. The wedding was at 1:20 pm and pictures after took 3 hours in the 118 F Weather. It was a bit warm, but it was a lovely day. After the wedding we had our wedding breakfast (which really was dinner) and then our evening reception from 7 - 9 which was an evening of dancing and mingling with friends and family. We sent out over 400 invites and had probably 250 show through the evening at the reception. When it came time to cut the wedding cake it is tradition for the bride and groom to feed each other a piece. I fed mine so nicely to Lee and then he started a food fight with his. So we ended up chasing each other around the reception throwing wedding cake. It is something I will never forget. The wedding video is fantastic and caught a lot of that for us.
For our honeymoon we went to a Idaho where we had a second reception. Another night of Dancing and hanging out with more friends. It really was nice. We stopped off in SLC and spent a bit of time there especially since Lee had not spent anytime in SLC so we went and saw the sights. It was really nice.
The year following that Lee and I lived in the States. I worked 2 jobs at an insurance broker and also at my grandma's Day Spa. Lee did various jobs mostly web site work for people. We then moved to Chorley England in November 2002. We lived near Lee's mom and dad which was lovely. It was really nice to have his fmaily so close to us especially since we were so far away from my family. We lived in a TINY House. Lee was working as an office manager for the firm where his dad worked and I worked in Manchester for an insurance broker.
Later Lee decided to go back to school for Computer Forensics. While Lee was in school I worked in Manchester as a Corporate Broker. Lee graduated from University in 2006 and started working as a Forensic Investigator.
In 2004 Lee and I wanted to get on the property ladder and bought a house in a town called Wigan. In 3 years the price of the house has increased £30K. So it has been the right choice for us in the sense that the money we make on the house will help us when we move back to the states.
Lee and I have plans to move back to the states for a number of reasons. For one I could never raise my children in England. It is beautiful here but not a place to raise children. It is so unsafe. And though I used to say I never wanted to live in the bubble, AKA Utah, I want to raise my children in a safe place where I dont have to worry as much as I do here. Where my children have the ability to become whatever they want to be and do whatever they want to do. Where the sky is the limit. The other reason is I miss my friends and family. I have never really settled in here. I have tried to but cant seem to do it. I miss my friends and my family. So we are putting our house up for sale at the end of this month and going to rent in Chorley again. Until we can move back. We will be here until next April for sure and Maybe a little bit longer. But it is unlikely. I think 6 1/2 years here is long enough. We have given it a good go.
This year we are celebrating our 7 year anniversary. Often you hear about the 7 year itch but I have to say being married to Lee has been an amazing ride. We have so much fun together. Not only are we eternal companions but we are truely best friends. I cant think of anyone else I would like to spend the rest of eternity with. I would hope that Lee would say the same thing.
