When we put the kids to bed I asked Lee to stay up stairs while I set things up. I got candles lit and nice classical music playing in the background. I loved that it was raining slightly outside as well and you could hear the rain gently falling on the window with the classical music. Here is a picture of the table once it was set.
Next was the first course. There were only 3. But that is more than we would have for a typical dinner at home. Plus I concentrated on the presentation of the food. I wanted it to all look really pretty. We had tomato and basil soup garnished with double cream and parsley (the parsley is from my garden) and hot baguette. Here is the picture!
For the main course we had individual Beef Wellington. This is a medallion of beef toped with a fetta cheese mixture and a spinach, mixed with onions and garlic and cooked down, wrapped in filo pastry and baked. So delish! I also made a selection of vegetables and a red wine sauce (Yes I cook with wine). Here is the picture:
For the third and final course otherwise known as dessert I made fruit Kabobs and chocolate Fondue. So Yummy. By the time we got to the third course I could not eat another bite. I couldnt even finish my main course. Here is a picture of the dessert:
We had such a lovely evening. It was so nice and relaxing and just a lovely time. We will definitely do this again.
